New at Wheatsville

We work hard to seek out exciting new products and flavors we think our members will love— here’s what’s new at Wheatsville this week.

Black garlic is a super food and has been gaining popularity in the last few years. Black garlic is simply white garlic that has gone through a rigorous fermentation process that takes anywhere from 30 to 60 days to produce.  The finished garlic is jet black in color and has double the nutritional values (18 different amino acids) and double the antioxidant properties of white garlic. It is currently being studied as an element in cancer research because the fermentation produces S-Allycycsteine. Judd's All Natural uses black garlic as the key ingredient in two new dressings: a Truffle, Balsamic and Black Garlic Dressing and a Miso and Black Garlic Dressing. Both perform brilliantly with salads, vegetables, proteins, as marinades, or dipping sauces. The dressings are gluten-free with no trans fat, cholesterol, MSG or added preservatives. These are very healthful dressings, but even more important they are one of a kind and absolutely delicious! Chef Judd Servidio makes Judd’s All Natural in Austin, Texas. 12oz, Reg. $7.99

Desert Creek Honey raises their own honeybees, harvests the honey, packages it and sells it directly to customers in its most natural and raw form. More than 72 million honeybees in 1,200 hives are employed to bring you the most delicious, all-natural, raw Texas honey. Most honey has been heated to over 160 degrees and strained through sand filters, but all Desert Creek honey is raw, unheated, and unstrained, with the natural yeasts and enzymes present in the honey left intact. The Dark honey features heavy pollen content, gathered from Texas wildflowers. The Guajillo (primarily sourced from a wild desert bush of the same name) is light, mild, rich, smooth and sweet, with a hint of lavender. The Comb honey can be eaten straight, chewed on like candy, or spread across a warm piece of toast to melt smooth. Or, try adding the Bee Pollen to a number of foods for a high protein, complete amino acid, enzyme-rich nutrient boost. Desert Creek Honey is based in McKinney, TX and is family-owned and operated by Blake and Kathleen Shook. 8-16oz, Reg. $7.99-11.99

Artisana Bulk Organic Raw Coconut Butter

Artisana's organic raw coconut butter is freshly made from whole coconut flesh (not just the oil), which is pureed into a fibrous, densely nutritious spread. This butter melts in your mouth with full coconut taste and aroma, while giving you the whole coconut nutrition: oil, dietary fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals. This is butter great for eating straight, and if you haven't tried it yet, Artisana is the one you should start with! Coconut oil separation may occur causing a white, solid top layer; simply warm and blend back together. For this reason refrigeration is not recommended. Per lb, Reg. $8.29

Bulk Organic Wild Rice

Wild rice, contrary to the name, is not actually a member of the rice family, although it is a grain producing grass. Wild rice towers over other grains when it comes to amounts of protein, minerals, B vitamins, folic acid, and carbohydrates. Cooked wild rice has a rich nutty flavor, sometimes described as a smoky, and a texture that is delightfully chewy. Wild rice pairs well with nuts and mushrooms, and shines in pilafs, soups, and even as a warm breakfast cereal. Per lb, Reg. $8.49

Clemmy’s ice cream bars are made with superior, all-natural ingredients only, making them one of the most satisfying ice cream snacks available anywhere. And, since Clemmy’s is the only ice cream that’s truly sugar-free (lightly sweetened with maltitol), gluten-free, and lactose-free, you can enjoy to your heart’s delight without the health restrictions that come with all the other ice cream products out there. 10oz, Reg. $4.69
