Dinners for Two

Have you seen our new Dinners For Two? On the bottom shelf of our self service case are three large portion meals-to-go: Turkey Florentine Meatballs with Spaghetti Sauce, vegan Tomato Braised Tofu over Brown Rice, and Braised Greens with White Beans. These meals-to-go will help you get a solid dinner on the table in a hurry – just boil some pasta to go with your Meatballs and stretch that dinner to feed four! A side of our fresh-baked LaBrea Garlic Bread could also help round out this dish. Tomato Braised Tofu is fine on its own, but if you grab the Greens with Beans as a side to either item, you’ve got a well rounded meal ready in minutes. Just heat’n’eat! Keep an eye on that case because we’ll be adding more exciting and delicious options in the next week or two!

Sippin' Weather

As the weather warms up, our Grab’n’Go Icebox has made its seasonal return in front of the Deli Counter. This icy box o’goodness is filled with our tasty, cold drinks for you to grab-n-gulp with no wait! In there, you’ll likely find our infamous 24-hour cold-brewed Iced Coffee Toddy, delightfully pink and refreshing Hibiscus Mint Iced Tea, sweet-tart Agave Lemonade, and sweet and fruity Gingerade, which is now on sale for owners, a 16oz cup for just 99¢, reg. $1.69. This house-brewed, staff favorite is made with fresh ginger, spices and a blend of three fruit juices, and can be served iced or hot! It’s an allergy-destroyer and tummy-tenderizer all in one, and boy does it taste good, too – stir in some local honey and cayenne for an extra immunity booster!

Lunch!

Our famed Fresh Veggie Sandwich is on sale for owners right now, $2.99, reg $3.49! Choose from an abundance of local and organic breads, the spread of your choice, plus a plethora of veggies – have ‘em all or keep it simple – like lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, jalapenos, sprouts, cucumbers, and carrots! Eat light, or, if you’d like to bulk it up, add extras like cheese, avocado, bacon and pay just a bit more!

We are featuring a new menu of six hot and toasty sandwiches for you! Try our classic BLT on toasted local sourdough, or our cheesy Caprese with melted mozzarella, house-made pesto, fresh veggies and oil and vinegar on local ciabatta! The Italian will fill you up, piled high with two kinds of salami and honey maple ham on local ciabatta. Our Smoked Ham & Swiss comes with stone ground mustard, lettuce and tomatoes on local rye bread. Try my favorite, the Tuna Melt, which melts sharp white cheddar over our house-made tuna salad. Or have a WV Turkey Club, featuring oven-roasted turkey, crispy bacon and ripe avocado with veggies on organic wheat bread. C’mon in and try one!

Our first new Fresh in the Deli dish for March is the Raw Deal, courtesy of Community Food Co-op in Bellingham, Washington. This good-for-you vegan and raw shredded salad is chockfull of powerhouse ingredients like kale, spinach, carrots, walnuts and pumpkin seeds tossed in an dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, mint, oregano, garlic and jalapenos! This Raw Deal will do your body right!

Our second Fresh in the Deli dish this round is Mediterranean Green Beans from our friends at Linden Hills Co-op in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Blanched green beans are simply tossed with olive oil, garlic, parmesan and lemon zest to make this sensational side dish.

Our Featured Salsa, Poblano Salsa, is spicy, tangy and delicious! This is a real favorite with great flavor and is fabulous with just a bowlful of staff-favorite El Milagro corn chips for dippin’. Try some of this emerald delight on your taco or order of $1.99 Brown Rice and Black Beans today!

Smoothies

Cool off with our Featured Smoothie, the seasonally silly Soylent Green Is… Leprechauns! Mangoes and bananas are blended with organic apple juice and a spoonful of spirulina, making an icy, sweet drink that’s good for you and lucky green, too!

Boar's Head

Also on sale at the Deli Counter through March are tasty cold cuts, sliced to order: Boar’s Head Honey Maple Ham at $8.49/lb, reg. $8.99 and Pepperjack Cheese, $6.19/lb, reg. $7.19! C’mon in and stock up on your lunchbox staples!

Bakery Goodness

And for those of you looking to limit the gluten in your diet, c’mon in for our Bakery’s Wheat-Free Wednesdays and choose from a scrumptious selection of gluten-free baked goods, like muffins, bars and cakes, like the fabulous Espresso Swirl Brownies! Also, be sure to check out our new Bakery table every day in front of the Deli Counter, where you’ll find an assortment of wrapped, sweet treats! From 7:30 til 11:00 am every day, the Deli is running a breakfast bar of grab’n’go goodness to start your morning right! Come on over to our hot bar, where you’ll find a variety of freshly made Breakfast Tacos wrapped and ready for you! Now, even when you’re running late, you can stop in for a super-quick and super-tasty breakfast with no wait! Grab a vegan Black Bean, Potato & Sausage Taco, a vegetarian Egg, Potato & Cheese Taco, or a meat-lovers mainstay Bacon, Egg & Cheese Taco on a wheat tortilla with a side of Salsa to start your morning right! Or, come up to the Counter and order a custom-made taco! Also, for just $1.99 a cup, our organic, vegan Steel-Cut Oatmeal offers a hearty, nutty bite, and an abundance of toppings are available to make it just how you like it: organic butter, maple syrup, agave nectar, local honey, coconut milk, cow’s milk, brown sugar, raisins, sliced almonds, cinnamon and more! We are delighted to introduce a wonderful line of local, organic Zhi Teas at the Wheatsville Deli! We are now carrying seven of Zhi’s best-selling, most indulgent, aromatic, colorful, fresh and flavorful teas – hand-crafted in small batches and sold in individual, biodegradable (non-GMO) corn silk sachets.
