Our first new Fresh in the Deli dish for October is Indian Spiced Bean Dip, courtesy of Wheatsfield Co-op in Ames, Iowa. Hearty and warming, spiced with curry and garlic, this bean dip is perfect for a fall tailgate party. This creamy, vegan dip goes great with pita chips or crunchy, raw veggies for a wonderful appetizer or easy snack! Spread some on soft pita with lettuce, tomato and onion for an alternative wrap to the standard hummus!
Our second Fresh in the Deli dish, perfect for the season, is hearty, vegan Nutted Wild Rice from our friends at Hanover Co-op Food Stores in Hanover, New Hampshire. A blend of wild and brown rice is flavored with fresh orange juice and tossed with pecans, dried cranberries and fresh mint for a fantastic fall side dish. Serve it alongside a Garlic-Rosemary Roasted Chicken from the Deli’s self-serve case, or stuffed into a baked squash for maximum deliciousness!
Owners can now save on a Chickenless Chickpea Sandwich, available from our Deli Counter and made just how you like it! This vegan mock chicken salad has incredible flavor and wonderful texture.
