Our new Fresh in the Deli recipe this month is Lively Carrots and Beets. This dish is one of our recipes that we are sharing with other co-ops around the country. Lively Carrots and Beets can be found on our salad bar and features freshly grated organic beets and carrots, dressed in a simple apple cider and raw agave nectar dressing This is a great dish to add to a salad or to have on its own!

Our new Featured Salsa is the taco-tastic Chipotle Salsa! This smoky red salsa is very popular on our breakfast tacos and adds a definite element of heat to an order of our Deli’s famous $1.99 Rice & Beans! A Wheatsville Deli stock for quite a long time, our Chipotle Salsa has become one of our rotating Featured Salsas, which means we will only be making it once a year.

Also this month, our Featured Smoothie is the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie! Strawberries and organic, fair-trade chocolate syrup are blended with bananas, your choice of milk and apple juice, making one delicious, icy cold and thick drink! Come on in and taste the love, just $4.99!

On sale at the Deli Counter through the end of February are tasty cold cuts, sliced to order: Boar’s Head Ovengold Turkey at $9.49/lb, reg. $9.99 and Provolone Cheese, $4.99/lb, reg. $5.99! Big Game EATS!

Get your Game Day Treats from the Wheatsville Deli!

Austin knows football, and even when it’s not our local faves in the Big Game, we still party like it is! In fact, that means there’s possibly even less time spent shouting in front of the screen and more time savoring all the tasty treats at your Super Bowl Party! This year’s Super Bowl also marks the first anniversary of our Buffalo Popcorn Tofu! We rolled out this spicy, crunchy treat for last year’s game and it has been a huge hit all year long. It’s especially delicious dunked in our vegan Blue Cheez sauce! We’ll have large containers of both our classic Popcorn Tofu and the Buffalo PCT along with the Blue Cheez and Cashew-Tamari dressings available for game day.

In addition, we’re featuring our Hot Wings Hot Bar on Sunday with our tasty, crispy Buffalo Hot Wings and BBQ Wings, with our classic Ranch Dressing – we’ll even have large bags on hand if you’d like to stock up on hot, ready-to-go wings to bring to your shindig! We’ll also be featuring our delicious Tempeh Chili and, for the carnivores, smoky Black Bean Turkey Chili on our hot soup bar all weekend! Wisconsin Sheep Dairy Cooperative; Dante Lamb, Smoked Tulum, Veneto

The Wisconsin Sheep Dairy Co-op is a premier maker of artisanal sheep’s milk cheese and the only sheep dairy cooperative in the United States. Comprised of 15 family farms, the co-op was founded in 1998 with the goal to establish a stable market for and supply of the highest quality sheep milk available. A cooperative also enabled the growing number of family sheep dairies to collectively market their milk and to obtain better pricing on sheep dairying equipment. There are approximately 15 member farms varying greatly in size from small family dairies up to 100+ acre farms milking hundreds of ewes.
