Speaking of gifts to bring to holiday parties, the poinsettia is another classic. Since poinsettias are grown for their pretty leaves as opposed to their flowers, they look beautiful for much longer. When I was a kid, we'd take poinsettias to folks who for one reason or another couldn't leave their homes during the holidays. They really brighten up the home and they're a thoughtful gift.
